DARPA全稱叫做美國國防部高級研究計劃局，其每年舉辦的“大挑戰(zhàn)”機器人車輛競賽都會吸引不少人參賽，如果某個參賽的機器人車輛最先走完長達175英里（約282千米）的崎嶇道路，并且所花時間不超過10小時，就能獲得DARPA提供的200萬美元獎金。

這本書詳細介紹了參賽車輛的系統(tǒng)、軟件、處理過程，也描述了參賽者是如何 設(shè)計智能車軟件的。相信這本書會給投身智能車研發(fā)的技術(shù)人員很多的啟示。 看過此書以后，可能會有一種既生瑜何生亮的感覺算了別感嘆了，趕緊學(xué)習(xí)吧！

這本書是美國汽車工程師協(xié)會編制的會議論文集。重要的事還要說一遍，這可是論文集哦，多少人的心血凝結(jié)而成的！其中介紹了汽車相關(guān)的安全技術(shù)，包括主動安全方面、道路安全方面、駕駛輔助與建模方面、通信方面。

另外，還從消費者和市場的角度提出了對安全方面的思考。全書雖說沒有談到很多智能車方面的問題，但是這些安全問題確是研發(fā)智能車不能回避的。

26《SAFETY FIRST FOR AUTOMATED DRIVING》
由奧迪，百度，寶馬，大陸，戴姆勒，菲亞特克萊斯勒汽車，英飛凌，英特爾，Aptiv和大眾等 11 家公司組成的聯(lián)盟發(fā)布了一份白皮書《自動駕駛安全第一》(“Safety First For Automated Driving”)，描述了「安全」自動駕駛汽車的開發(fā)、測試和驗證的框架。

這 11 家公司聲稱它是迄今為止業(yè)界最廣泛的代表，并且表示他們的 這份146 頁報告可以證明自動駕駛車輛「比人類駕駛員更安全」。這些公司在一份聯(lián)合發(fā)布的新聞稿中寫道：“《自動駕駛安全第一》這份白皮書涵蓋了來自汽車制造商、供應(yīng)商以及技術(shù)這三大行業(yè)的專業(yè)知識，能夠有助于直接開發(fā)安全的自動駕駛汽車。”

該聯(lián)盟建議，如果與安全相關(guān)的功能或系統(tǒng)組件因任何原因變得不安全，ADS能夠補償并將車輛轉(zhuǎn)移到安全狀態(tài)，同時確保司機有足夠的時間接手。它還規(guī)定了接手和脫離接手機制，這些機制要求明確的駕駛員交互、防范安全威脅，并識別駕駛員的狀態(tài)，以便讓他們了解自己的職責(zé)和駕駛模式轉(zhuǎn)換。

白皮書的合著者接下來描述了一些策略，旨在在司機不遵守接管請求的情況下將風(fēng)險降到最低，以及旨在確保滿足某些安全目標(biāo)的核實和驗證測試。他們建議，自動駕駛汽車以一種符合隱私的方式記錄與狀態(tài)相關(guān)的數(shù)據(jù)，而且它們的行為方式可以預(yù)見，既尊重道路規(guī)則，又便于附近司機理解。
